Privacy policy
Effective October 1, 2026. Published by Downhill Play LLC ("we", "us").
Nagi Baby Tracker is an app for parents and caregivers to record a baby's feedings, diapers and notes. This policy explains what information the app handles, where it goes, and how to remove it.
The short version
- You can use Nagi without an account. In that case what you log stays on your phone and we never receive it.
- If you turn on cloud backup, your records are stored on our servers so they can be restored and shared with the caregivers you invite. Nobody else can see them.
- We do not show ads, we do not sell or rent your information, and there is no analytics or tracking software in the app.
- You can export everything, delete your cloud data, or delete your account at any time, from inside the app.
What stays on your phone
Everything you log is saved in a database on your phone: your baby's name, optional birth date and sex, feedings (amounts, formula names, nursing sides and durations), diapers (wet, dirty, colour, texture), notes you type, and the time and time zone of each entry. Files you import (for example an export from another baby tracker) are read on the phone.
Without an account, none of this is sent to us.
The app opts out of Android's device backup, so Google's phone backup does not copy your records either. If you lose the phone without cloud backup on, the records are gone with it; the app's export (Settings → Your data) is the way to keep your own copy.
What we receive if you turn on cloud backup
Cloud backup is optional and off until you sign in and switch it on.
- Your account. Your email address. If you use Google Sign-In, Google also gives our sign-in provider your name and profile picture link; we do not use them.
- Your records. The same information listed above: babies, feedings, diapers, notes, and their times. Each entry also carries which family member logged it and a random identifier for the phone it was logged on.
- Your family. Who belongs to your household, their role (owner or caregiver), and invitation codes (stored only in scrambled form).
- Housekeeping. When records were created, changed or deleted, and, when two phones change the same record at once, a temporary copy of both versions so nothing is lost silently.
We do not collect your location, contacts, photos, advertising identifiers, or anything from other apps. Our application logs do not record your IP address or the contents of your records.
Crash reports
If "Send crash reports" is on (you can switch it off on the first screen or in Settings), the app sends a report when something goes wrong: the error, where in our code it happened, the app version, and the phone model and Android version. Reports are stripped of names, notes, events, email addresses, and what you tapped before they leave the phone. Nothing is sent before you have finished the first-launch screen that explains this.
What we use it for
Only to provide the service: to store and restore your records, to keep the phones in your family in sync, to sign you in, to send sign-in codes by email, and to find and fix faults. We look at overall counts (for example how many families use sharing) and never build profiles of people.
Who else handles it
We rely on a small number of service providers to run Nagi: a hosting provider for our server, a database and sign-in provider, a network provider that sits in front of our server, an email delivery service that sends sign-in codes, and, if crash reports are switched on, a crash-reporting service. They process information only on our instructions and only to provide their part of the service. Our providers store data in the United States. If you choose Google Sign-In, Google handles that sign-in under Google's own privacy policy.
We do not share information with anyone else, except where the law requires it or to protect someone's safety. If the business is ever sold or merged, the new owner would be bound by this policy for the information already collected.
How long we keep it
- Records in the cloud are kept while your household has cloud backup on.
- When you delete an entry it is removed from every phone in your family at the next sync, and erased from our servers for good 180 days later. (The delay is how a phone that has been offline for months still learns the entry was deleted.)
- Delete cloud data erases your family's records from our servers immediately. An empty marker with no name remains for up to 180 days.
- Delete account erases your sign-in immediately, along with your family's cloud records if you are its only member. If you are a caregiver in someone else's family, the entries you logged stay with that family without your name on them.
- Backups of our database are kept for up to 7 days, so deleted information can persist in a backup for that long.
- Crash reports are kept for 90 days.
Deleting cloud data or your account never deletes anything from your phone. To remove that too, uninstall the app or clear its storage in Android's settings.
Your choices
- See or take your information: Settings → Your data → Export creates a file with everything.
- Delete it: Settings → Delete → Delete cloud data or Delete account. If you no longer have the app, see nagibaby.com/delete-account or write to us.
- Stop sharing: the owner of a family can remove a caregiver at any time; a caregiver can leave.
- Crash reports: Settings → Privacy → Send crash reports.
Depending on where you live you may have legal rights to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your information, and to object to or restrict how it is used. The tools above cover these; you can also write to us and we will respond within 30 days. We will not treat you differently for using these rights.
Children
Nagi is for adults: parents and caregivers. It is not directed at children and children do not use it. The information about a baby in the app is entered by that baby's parent or caregiver, who decides whether to store it in the cloud and can delete it at any time. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
Security
Information travels between the app and our servers over encrypted connections. Each request is checked against your sign-in and your family membership, so one family can never read another's records. The database is not reachable from the public internet except through our server. No system is perfectly secure; if we learn of a breach affecting your information we will tell you.
Changes
If we change this policy in a way that matters, we will say so in the app before the change takes effect. The date at the top shows when it was last updated.
